Pipedrive Nova in daily work – How to streamline sales meetings before, during, and after
Time is a salesperson’s most valuable asset. Yet, a large portion of the workday is spent preparing for meetings, copying notes, and updating CRM data.
Pipedrive Nova removes this administrative burden. It acts as a smart sales assistant directly inside Pipedrive.
Let’s take a look at what using Nova looks like in everyday sales work.
1. Before the meeting: Prepare in seconds (Briefed before)
Forget scrolling through dozens of past notes and email threads 5 minutes before a call. When you open Nova’s Upcoming meetings view, you will find an automatically generated Pre-Meeting Brief for every upcoming meeting. Nova synthesizes:
Deal status and past activities
Background information on the organization and contacts
A preparation checklist and key callouts
Tip: You can also provide deal-specific instructions (e.g., “Emphasize cross-selling additional services in this meeting”), and Nova will adjust the preparation brief accordingly.
2. During the meeting: Focus 100% on the customer (Focused during)
When you jump on a call, you no longer need to type notes on the fly or worry about missing a detail mentioned by the customer.
Scheduled video calls: Nova’s AI Notetaker bot joins Zoom, Teams, or Google Meet calls and handles transcription in the background. If you use the Nova Companion desktop app, it records audio without a visible bot.
Ad hoc calls and unplanned phone calls: If a customer calls unexpectedly without a calendar invite, no problem! You can click “Record call” in the Nova Companion app, and Nova will immediately start transcribing the call and automatically link it to a newly created Pipedrive activity afterward.
3. After the meeting: CRM updates with a single click (Updated after)
The biggest “aha” moment happens once the meeting ends. Three key elements appear in Nova’s Post-meeting actions view:
Meeting summary (Debrief): A clear overview of the topics discussed, customer concerns, positive signals, and agreed next steps. Nova can also automatically save this summary as a note under the relevant deal or organization.
Full transcript: A complete text record of the call with timestamps and speaker tags. Clicking a specific point in the summary takes you directly to that spot in the text transcript.
Suggested CRM updates: Nova analyzes the conversation and compares it against current Pipedrive data. It may suggest updating the deal value, adjusting the expected close date, or adding a new phone number to a contact.
The most important principle – Human in the loop
Nova does not make unauthorized changes to your CRM data. It displays current Pipedrive values side-by-side with proposed new values. You review the suggestions, make adjustments if needed, and approve changes with a single click.
The bottom line? Sales reps save 15–20 minutes per meeting, and CRM data stays genuinely up to date without the hassle.
