Put CRM data to work: Pipedrive launches native MCP

Sales teams can now take another giant leap forward in leveraging AI, as Pipedrive has announced the launch of its native Model Context Protocol (MCP) server.

This technology is based on an open standard that enables businesses to securely connect Pipedrive CRM with the most popular AI assistants, such as ChatGPT and Claude, in real time.

What does this mean in practice? It means that from now on, you can manage and update your CRM system directly through your AI chat, speaking in your own language!

What is MCP (Model Context Protocol)?

MCP is an open standard that acts as a secure bridge between AI (such as LLM language models) and a company’s external data sources. No longer does AI have to guess or rely on outdated information. Thanks to MCP, your AI assistant can view your real-time data in Pipedrive, update it, and perform approved actions on your behalf – while strictly respecting your security and user permission settings!

Save time and handle CRM routines via conversation

In a salesperson’s daily routine, updating the CRM often takes up too much time. Pipedrive MCP removes this friction. You can give your AI assistant direct commands and questions using natural language:

  • “Ask instead of clicking”: “Show me all open deals that haven’t been updated in two weeks.”
  • Update CRM on the fly: “Create a follow-up activity for next Monday and add today’s meeting notes to the deal.”
  • Generate sales insights: “Which deals are most likely to close this month, and what are the next steps?”
  • Create deals from notes or images: You can feed the AI your raw meeting notes or even a photo of a business card, and ask it to create a new contact and deal for you.

Instead of being a passive summarizer, AI becomes an active and intelligent participant in your sales process.

Why use Pipedrive’s native MCP solution?

While unofficial connectors and complex custom API setups have existed in the market, Pipedrive’s own native MCP server brings significant advantages:

  • No coding required: The integration is pre-built, and setup is completed via a secure OAuth connection with no developer resources needed.
  • Comprehensive security and control: The AI assistant cannot access anything the user themselves does not have permission to see. Every action performed by the AI is recorded in Pipedrive’s change logs (audit trail) for full transparency.
  • Available to everyone: Pipedrive MCP is available to customers across all Pipedrive subscription tiers (plans).
